Welcome to Chiltern Way Academy Wokingham

Chiltern Way Academy Wokingham is a co-educational specialist secondary and Post-16 academy located close to the town of Wokingham. We provide high-quality education and support for young people aged 8 to 18 whose primary diagnosis is Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC).

At Chiltern Way Academy Wokingham, we are committed to creating a safe, nurturing and inclusive environment where every student is valued, understood and encouraged to reach their full potential. We recognise that developing confidence, resilience and strong personal character is fundamental to successful learning and future achievement. By building positive relationships and celebrating individual strengths, we enable our students to thrive both academically and personally.

Our curriculum is carefully designed to meet the diverse needs of our learners, providing a balance of academic, vocational and personal development opportunities. We strive to equip students with the knowledge, skills and independence they need to make informed choices and prepare successfully for adulthood.

Our key priorities are to:

  • Develop students' independence through the teaching of essential life and social skills.
  • Prepare students for further education, employment and adult life by developing their understanding of the workplace and their role within the wider community.
  • Deliver an engaging, ambitious and personalised curriculum that reflects each student's interests, strengths and aspirations, enabling them to achieve qualifications that are appropriate to their individual pathways.
  • Foster emotional wellbeing, self-confidence and resilience, empowering students to become active, responsible and successful members of society.

In addition to our specialist teaching facilities, the academy benefits from a wide range of purpose-built resources designed to support both learning and wellbeing. These include a sports hall, a Multi-Use Games Area (MUGA), a fully equipped fitness suite, a sensory room and a swing room, providing students with opportunities to develop physically, socially and emotionally.

We understand that choosing the right school is an important decision for families. We warmly welcome prospective parents and carers to visit the campus, meet our staff and experience our learning environment first-hand.
